If you're reincarnated, what do you think you'll come back as?

A golden cockroach. When people found me, they'd win.
I'll be the first to admit that I hate new age yoga Carrboroites. They make my skin crawl, yet at the same time, I can't help but be envious of how god damn happy they look all the time. After going through a fairly stressful month, I've decided to put my gym membership back to use and have started attending yoga classes again.
When it comes to exercise, it's nearly impossible for me to not compete. From age five, I was a competitve swimmer and physical activity has always been synonymous with what I achieve vs. others. Yoga, however, is forcing an end to that. Towards the end of my first class, we did "goddess pose." It's a pretty simple looking pose, but deceiving. You turn towards the mirror, put your hand out to your sides, palms up, elbows bent. Your legs are separated, feet turned outwards and knees bent so that your thighs are parallel to the ground.
There you are, spread eagle, staring at yourself square in the eyes. I start shaking. I can barely hold the pose. I was trying so hard to look as peaceful as everyone else, but had to keep stopping the pose, standing up and starting over. It was embarrassing, since I'm 23 years old, in seemingly good shape, yet every other person in the class (including the 60 year old men) could do the pose just fine. The instructor starts quietly singing "Getting to know you, Getting to know aallll about youuu . . . We get to know a lot about ourselves in Goddess pose."
I had no idea how to react to that, but I knew she was right. For the first time, I've consistently gone back to classes and something in me is changing.
I walked into my room after work the other day and was blown away by
how beautiful the early evening light was, streaming into my room. For
some reason, the Tom Waits line from Coney Island Baby came into my
head "When I'm with her I'm the richest man in town." I don't have a
baby--but I do have these small things that make me feel like that once
in a while.
This is when i need to dazzle everyone with a brilliant first entry. so how about a sock haiku?
Morning impatience
so out the dryer they came
all day with damp socks.
How will I ever follow this one up?
