MySun, an online community for readers of the Sun Magazine UK has recently launched. Hoping to capitalize on the success of sites like Myspace, the Sun is expanding their reputation as a source for news to that of an online community where people can tag the stories they like and blog about them.
This is definitely an interesting move and something that I see happening for many online newspapers. Though you can comment on most blogs now and have a username that identifies you in some way, it is more interesting to see what else the person is interested in by clicking and going to their profile. As this article points out, there are still some problems with this site but this is a positive step for online journalism that I can definitely see being added to even local sites like the newsobserver.com, hopefully soonger rather than later.
